no grinding noise, but ill check again wen i go out on sunday, its only used as an off roader so it spends most of its time parked up at a mates farm.

thanxs discoandy ill give that a go, i doubt its got nethin to do with the light as none of the lights work neways. ne more ways of checking or fixing or things to check would be great, thanx, is the short lever surposed to move freely side to side?

u can tell its not workin wen ur driving it, ie around in a tight circle, no scrubing feeling, and (fanatic that dont even make sence)

iv checked the arm that comes out off of the short lever and thats fine, iv checked the arm that goes down to the diff and thats fine, so no idea.

i have a 1988 defender 90, and the diff lock wont engage, i have checked the linkage arm and thats all fine, so i cant think of wat it can be, the short lever goes into low range fine and goes back into high range fine, but it just wiggles side to side with no resistance. any coments will be...
