CV boot damage - easy repair

Today I have carried out a very easy repair - wouldn't have thought so at first but, it sure surprised me. I had a small nick in the rubber CV boot on the passenger front driveshaft, grease was escaping so I knew it would be an MOT fail. Faced with having to undo the high torque nut and...

    filter element

What's easier or quicker about that? Lift out filter, push in vortex unit - just as you would the filter and, .... it doesn't have to be done again, ever Simplez

    Bloody brakes..

Can depend on what you are used to. Landrover have "softer" brakes so that driving in slippery conditions is smoother with no sudden actions. If I drive the GF's sporty car, I nearly headbutt the dash everytime I so much as slightly touch the brakes - which I find dangerous on a wet road as...

    damsel in distress

So, you bought a car with an unkown service history, and.... .... then drove it around for 5 months and through the worst Winter on record without servicing it yourself. Especially the V6  First thing I do with a new vehicle is carry out a full service - unless the seller is a dealer...

    Strange noise

That'll be your Traction Control as one rear wheel hits air coming off the bump. It briefly locks up that wheel. Mine does it off a kerb - and the TC light flashes up briefly.

    FS - 3 Synchrone 16" tyres

I have just put these in the for sale section, 215/65 16" Michelin Synchrone Tyres Originally I offered up 5 alloy wheels with tyres on, but I'm now gonna put all new tyres on so I'm gonna take these off and sell the good ones as these are hard to come by, for anyone who needs the odd one or...

    Crankcase and Synergy 2

The £18 + VAT kit includes the seals. I know I bought one. took me all of 2 minutes to clean the top and push the vortex unit in £20 still buys a few beers or even a splash of diesel.

    Crankcase and Synergy 2

Get the BMW seperator from a BMW dealer - £22 a quick search:- http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f9/td4-crankcase-breather-depression-limiter-valve-120503.html do the same for Synergy 2, don't go messing with the ECU

TD4 Engine breather before and after

I can't understand why you didn't just do the BMW vortex conversion instead of the filter, and fit an EGR bypass pipe. Would save you doing those jobs again.
