    Freelander 1 Livid...

Hoping there is no serious damage when I check tomorrow. Having a few Guinness tonight to chill out. Was going to spend tomorrow fitting my side bars and tpms but might leave that for now until it's all sorted. Still going to do the vcu test though. On a plus note it got me out of visit the...

    Freelander 1 Livid...

Took the car in today to get all 4 tyres changed and the alignment done, all seemed well. Driving home horrible noise from the front of the car followed by a bang! Instantly thought prop. Luckily it happened just as I was pulling into the drive. Hopped out, looked at the front wheel and the...

    VCU Torque test results

Cheers, have to say I had a look under the car and there isnt a mark on the VCU, so I am wondering if it has been replaced somewhere in the past. I will do the wheel up test at the weekend and see how it goes. Was tempted to just order a refurbed VCU, bu if the missus found out I spent 300 when...

    VCU Torque test results

HI all, just bought a 06 freelander - booked in for 4 new tires on her on sunday, and was thinking about ordering a refurb VCU as I dont know the history (TD4 done just over 100k) . All the running gear appears to be there, rear prop still in place, but wondered if there was any indication of...

What have you done to your Freelander today

Yeah, cheers fella - getting it booked in for next weekend for next weekend for a full set of tyres and an alignment - and I am ordering a refurbed VCU this week just to be on the safe side. Had a couple in the past so I remember a few of the things to keep an eye on :)

What have you done to your Freelander today

Just bought it yesterday, so today I have fitted new mats, mobile phone holder and a USB 4 port hub, and have ordered... new side steps, new stereo, new wheel centre caps, roof bars and and elm327 bluetooth adapter. still on amazon and ebay though so this list might increase as the night goes on...

Not really a hello, more an "I am back"

Hi all, been away for a few years but finally bought the bullet again at the weekend and bought another freelander. The wife was getting annoyed from the smell of all the fishing gear me and my son were keeping in the family car - so she finally agreed to "let me" get another hippo. My son can't...

Back after a good few years, but with a few questions...

Cool, dont suppose you know what size socket I need to take? have to say though I will probably replace the vcu anyway just in case. For the sake of £250 its worth it. I normally replace the timing belt on each car I get anyway so no biggie. Although when I say I what I actually mean is my...

    new mot...new laws

Evening fella, If you check the gov.co.uk website I dont think this is correct. This was stated a few weeks back, but has been clarified. things are still as they were - you can drive a car away from a failed MOT if you still have ticket left, but if you are caught with an un-roadworthy you will...

Back after a good few years, but with a few questions...

Hello all, got rid of my freelander a good few years ago now (7 or 8 years), but the bairn is getting older so really fancy getting another TD4 now. But have a few questions (so I say thankyou in advance :)) ... 1) I remember when I had mine (2001 plate) about the VCU and IRD issues - on...

    Back Again

Evening all, been a member on here for a good few years, but haven't been on in the last 3 or 4 years since I sold up and bought a "Family Car" due to having a baby (the wife, not me!). Well my son is now 5, no longer a baby - so I have decided to get myself another freelander - got my eyes on a...

    Coolant Problem
