    Bought another Disco.

Changing all the oil in diffs, boxes etc is the first thing to do with any disco as people tend to forget these and it cures lots of funny noises. The indicators not cancelling is usually the plastic ring around the binnacle has worn away, I remember looking once and struggling to find one...

    Hi from Norfolk

You're on the right forum for info and banter. Put your rhino skin coat on and give as good as you get and you'll be fine. Plenty of clubs and fellow landy owners round these parts if you fancy getting out and having a laugh.

    Best gasket material?

I'm doing a carb rebuild on my old scimitar and they don't make the original gaskets anymore, never needed to cut my own I've always used off the shelf stuff. So what's the best quality gasket material anyone has used?
  11. barmatt

Head Gasket, easy to do for newbie?

If you manage to make any Land Rover oil and water tight keep it to yourself or you'll be accused of witchcraft and burnt to death in a giant wicker man. :flame2:

    Please share your LPG experiences...

Thanks, that was exactly my point. I never had any major issues with any of my tdi or v8 engined landies as I like to think that I maintain them quite well and because of that I have relatively trouble free motoring.

ok so in the interests of balance as I've had both tdi and v8's and like them equally, have you read up on the MANY problems people have with tdi's? It turns out they are about as unreliable as a v8 on lpg In the end it's up to you. ;)

I know you can't fill them, that's why your figure of 330 miles to a tank confused me.

Can torroidal tanks be filled to more than 80%

Neither of mine ever got past half way on the temp gauge but they were both single point.

Oh when you do get one it doesn't cost much to get an lpg specialist to look over the system to make sure it's all correct and is definitely worth the piece of mind.

    Please share your LPG experiences...

I've had 2 RRC's on lpg and loved both of them, not only for the v8 burble that you love but because of running costs being quite reasonable. If you need boot space make sure you get one with either a toroidal tank (spare wheel type), under slung tanks or both preferably so you have a decent...
