    Whats it worth...

That's optermistic. I was thinking a monkey, tops (£500), and that would be if it was rot free.

    Bumper problems and solutions

Guardian 4x4 do some excellent kit that fits like a glove. decent prices as well. They do front & rear bumpers, rock sliders, sump guards and roof light bars. Edited to add; That's my Disco in the picture beside this reply. You should be able to make out the front bumper and rock sliders...

Looks like they gave you at least 33% discount on the labour rate.

I listed the prices that I get charged from my local main dealer earlier in this thread. Those were for a Disco 1 TDi.

taking off rad/oil cooler question 300tdi

I'd agree 100% with what both Paul D & Shorty said. My oil cooler was off for about two months whilst I sorted the rot out. No harm done and at 186'000 miles it will only use 1/2 litre max between oil & filter changes, (every 5000 miles).

    Disco 300tdi service question.

Well, I take it all back chaps. At £7.50 thats a bloody keen price. Loss leader perhaps? Still won't be fitting ****part to mine though. Not unless there is no other option.

    Plastic Wheel Arch Mouldings

Old ones off? Dremmal, then prise away the retaining clips. Once you have them off you will likely need to give that area a good wash to remove any gunk. I also had a very slight amount of surface rust on mine. Simply flattened it down, Karusted, Hammorite primer, then white Hammorite top coat...

Have you tried kicking it? Hitting it with a big hammer? Swearing at it? All of the above? Sorry. Don't know.

    Disco 300tdi service question.

Ah, sorry. The way I read the above post was that an oil filter and sump plug washer from paddocks was £20. Although TBH I do find it hard to believe that an oil filter, sump plug washer, air filter and fuel filter, (I assume that is what you mean by a 3 filter kit?), is only £6.30 + VAT. I'm...
  12. Disco Moneypit

    Disco 300tdi service question.

IIRC, oil filter is about £6 inc VAT. Air filter is £5 something, and a fuel filter is £8 something, again inc VAT. I'd hardly call any of those main dealer prices "expensive". Although I'm not 100% sure how that compares to Paddocks? I may save litterally a couple of quid untill I factor in...

    Disco 300tdi service question.

How much!!!!!!!!!? I'm amazed that so many of you chaps continue to use crappy Britpart stuff from Paddocks, when OEM filters from the Land Rover main dealers are less than half the price.

Wot he said ^^^^^^^^ About 6.5 litres or thereabouts IIRC Don't forgot to fill up the filter.

    300 tdi tuning (???)

I Craig, This has to be one of the more popular subjects on this forum. If you use the Landy Zone forum search function using the title of this thread, then you should find lots of relevent info. Just a few quick and cheap ones to get you started; clean out you intercooler and rad...

(Just for Fun) 0-60 times 300Tdi, But others welcome

Some of you chaps Landies can actually reach 60mph? About the only time that mine would reach such a high terminal velocity would be if it was pushed off a cliff.

    Rear seats fitting

I can just imagine them in the design off ice at Sollihull. One of those huge motorvational posters on the wall saying "Why design it properly when you can get away with bodging it?" "Hello eveyone. My name is Disco Moneypit, and I sometimes wish I'd bought a Toyota / Nissan".

    snobs

If he really was 'posh', he would have offered to help. Judging by his reaction it would suggest that the RR driver was suffering from a real lack of class. Even if he been suited up and didn't want to get dirty, I'm sure that the OP would have connected up the tow rope. Karma says, treat...

    Rear seats fitting

When I sorted the last load of rust issues on mine which included the boot floor and most of the floorpan mine didn't line up with the holes either..... This was due to the fact that I had gone mental with the welder and filled in every dam hole on the floorpan, so I had no holes what so ever...
