    my arse is sore

Had a 200 TDI who's seat collapsed. Took it out, a couple of the strengthening bits were missing, replaced with 1" box. You'll need a fire blanket to stop setting the seat alight when you're welding in the new bits, & I only weigh 9 1/2 stone!

    Disco2 suspension

Yes, Mike does engine re-mapping. Just Google Dynachip. It's the best money I've spent on my Disco. His standard re-map gets the turbo coming in @ 1500 rpm thru to 4000+. I get better economy, but can't really say what cos I've got the dreaded leaking fuel pressure regulator, yet to be changed...

    Disco2 suspension

AFAIK The disco 2 is a slightly wierd O/S. However, you're on the Wirral, so contact Mike@Dynachip,he's on the Wirral also. He has a Nanocom & can sort your Dad's suspension. Most times you can change a ride sensor without having to resort to a code reader

    TD5 Fan (again)

I have been assured the TD5 is R/H thread. I can't remember, I took mine off 3 yrs ago to fit a Kenlowe. I used a cold chisel to whack one of the flats on that bl**dy great nut

    TD5 fan & clutch

I didn't bother with the right spanner, just used a cold chisel. I've been assured it's R/H thread. As for the 2nd Question, I'll let you know, just had mine changed by the local garage. I don't have the equipment or strength to do it myself. Will be receiving the bill shortly.

Rear self leveling air suspension - The fuse keeps blowing

If you put in your location in your profile you might have a local member with a Hawkeye or Nanocom that would save you a shed load of money, instead of going to the main stealer.

    You guys gotta see this!

I can't claim points for discovering this, as it came from another forum, entitled " how to free your stuck BMW". YouTube - BMW + Snow + Woman = Epic Fail:hysterically_laughi:hysterically_laughi:hysterically_laughi

    Disco Series2 air suspension?

I'll second what baz2328 has to say. I've had my '52 Disco for 6 year & replaced both bags 2 yrs ago. Bag went this winter, replaced & have spare one in garage. You're compressor replacement seems excessive.

    td5 air suspension AGAIN !!!!!

The part you're looking for is :- RQH100030 "If you've got a Breitling Watch do you use you're mobile to tell the time" In other words, stick with what you've got

Resgister of members with TD5 Diagnostic Units

Thanks for the link. I was beginning to think no-one cared. Had a quick look & couldn't find it. Will look tomorrow when I have more time.

    battery keeps draining

Don't know if this helps, I had a weird voltage drain on my TD5. New battery went flat in hours. Got the local auto-electrician in & he confirmed I had a 10 amp drain. We started going thru the system & were coming up baffled. Then we disconnected the big wire from the alternator & the drain...

96 Disco won't drive without diff lock engaged

To put it bluntly, with the diff-lock engaged, because you have a half-shaft/ CV joint failure, you are in 2 wheel drive. Try doing a search for Rave & dowload it, it's the official LR workshop manual. It's free, gives you an idea how to rectify your problem. Haynes costs. Best of luck airhook

    TOTAL MYSTERY Coolant Loss!!!!

Mine's been the same for 6 yrs, though I havn't had heater failure yet. I top mine up every 6 months. I look forward to finding where the leak is. The leak is so small I've resisted the usual cure of Radweld, after reading this forum, if you've got a TD5 don't use Radweld. TD5's & Radweld don't...

    D2 Air Suspension Gremlins

Chances are that it's the bag. Your symptoms sound exactly like mine a month ago. It kept going down intermittantly & no signs of leaks, then suddenly 50 miles from home, it went, leaving only about 2cm of suspension & then the bump stop. Sadly the bump stop didn't make it, but a new bag cured it.

Burn it or scrap it - 03, D2 susp probs

Hi pindie, Chances are, it's the airbag fooked. I know it's new, but even new ones fail. Mine was under 2 yrs old & failed in under 2 weeks, new one sorted it.

    what to buy and 04 td5 or a 05 td6

I'll agree with the previous posters, if you live in town get the D3. The turning circle of the D2 is crap & very heavy for parking. But if you don't live in town get the D2, it should be more reliable, & if you de-egr, de-cat & get a re-map, it'll be a hell of a lot more fun & cheaper to...

    TD5 Break Pedal Rumble???

Just had this problem with mine, 52 plate D2. It was the discs, looked OK from the outside, but only a 2 mm strip on the inside contacting the pad. New discs & pads sorted it, just passed its MOT with flying colours!

    The maintenence begins

To me, it sounds like your battery has died. Modern batteries are similar to Ni-Mn/Ni-Cad batteries, like you use in your portable devices - they go from all there to nothing. Do a cap check of the battery first airhook
