    Weird noises....

That'll be the SLS compressor running. Quite normal. You probably parked on a bit of uneven ground or slope. The truck is just trying to level itself up. If it keeps running for more than 30 secs, it could be a sign of a leaky airspring.

i know this has been covered !

While you've got the headlining out, it's worth removing & re-sealing the roof rail. They leak there too. Also while its out check the Alpine windows, another known leak spot. Silaflex, a marine silicone, seems to be the prefered product.

Disco TD5 - Rear Door no longer unlocks from central locking....!? Help!

can you unlock it from the inside? If so it's probably a lube prob.

    1999 disco td5 juddering

Block your EGR/ remove it. It's a load of EU crap. Their theory is that if you re-burn the exhaust gasses, it'll be cleaner - doesn't work! De-cat & De-EGR & you'll pass your MOT with lower particulate figures. Andy

    Disco TD5 MAP Files

Hi Si If it goes like stink, it's very probably been re-mapped. I had mine done by Mike @ Dynachip & IIRC he put the new map inside the original map folder. This means it's up to you if you declare it to your insurers, cos not many people can access the new map without the right software. So...

TD5 fuel Tank Capacity.. MPG Calc...?

Hi Mikey Did a trip last Sunday, Cheltenham to Inverness - 500mls in 7.5 hrs. I wasn’t hanging about. Started off by brimming the tank to the neck. When I got home I’d still got a 1/4 tank. Bear in mind I’ve modded it for economy. Air-con - Off Kenlowed, De-egr’d ...

    What a bloody nightmare

Your best chance is to download Microcat, it's the L/R parts catalogue. It'll have to be one that's cracked, & make sure it's the latest. If you do, install it, BUT DON'T RUN IT, install the crack first, then run it. It'll run for a couple of months, then you might have to re-set your pc clock...

    Air suspension compressor

Hi Jez I just had a recent problem with mine, it was a seized ride height sensor. Put the Nanocom on it & there was intermittent signal from the O/S/R. If there is any fault logged in the SLS ecu, the compressor won't fire up. So it might be worth checking the sensors & plugs. Andy

Can you lock a D2 without setting the alarm?

Exactly the same thing happened to me. Just lock the door with the key. Andy

    Wow !!!

Now's the time to get in touch with Mike @ Dynachip for a re-map. Then you will be truly AMAZED!! Andy

New disco owner could use some help!

I'll second that:D The best £200+ I've ever spent on a motor. Can yours do 30 mph in 5th gear, without "jumping", & still pull away? Mine can now, thanks to Mike @ Dynachip. After Mike's standard re-map the power will come in @1500 rpm thru to 5000+ rpm, not the standard crap L/R power band of...

Warning Lights 2001 Disco - TC, ABS and Off Road Suspension Mode

Welcome to the 3 Amigos club. IMO, I wouldn't worry too much. If the lights don't come on again, after stopping the engine & restarting, the chances of having a fault logged in the SLABS Ecu are slim. Could have been a bit of mud caught between ABS sensor & wheel bearing pick-up (best scenario)...

    Discovery 2 ABS warning lights

Had exactly the same problem as chrisjc. No fault logged. In my case, the lights only came on when turning left @ low speed, like turning into a side road or dropping off a kerb. Lights went off if I stopped the engine & re-started. After 2 months of this, I got p*ssed off. So, on the main...

    D 2 with some problems

Had this problem with my D2. I'm lucky I've got a Nanocom. However, no faults were stored in the SLABS ecu. I suspected a front wheel bearing. So I did a sharp left turn whilst braking heavily - lights on & at last fault logged. Mine was the first warning signs of wheel-bearing failure. If it's...

de-cat pipe does NOT increase MPG

Again, I agree with Fishsponge. The route I went down was :- 1, remove viscous fan & fit Kenlowe - one hell of a lot smoother & , I reckon, 10% improvement in MPG. 2, Dynachip re-map - THIS YOU GOTTA DO!! It totally transforms the motor.( you know how LR's only pull between 2k & 3k revs. The...

    Discovery Fuel Filter warning

Hi Jon42 Not a lot to worry about. If you can undo the filter drain screw, just drain 1ltr off & check for water. If only a little, keep draining it off, the lite should go off after a couple of days. Mine used to come on in extreme wet conditions, was shorting out in the plug. I generally check...

Air Suspension has got to 100k Change the bags or not?

You're a lucky b**ger. Don't touch them! As M6SJG says, get a spare bag for the garage. One of mine only lasted 18 months.
