    Bosch Injector

Hey buddy, Thanks for the offer ;) Im replacing the Lucas CAV injector pump from my 2.5NA with a Bosch VE one so having an extra Lucas one won't help too much! (I've also got an extra 2 military recon 2.5NA engines sitting in their pallets so I don't have room for any more engines :) )

I'm hoping to get away with retro fritting the pulley gear from the original Lucas CAV pump to the Bosch VE and detuning the Bosch pump to reduce the pressure output to avoid significant spray pattern change... Let the experimentation begin!

    Bosch Injector

So before anyone tells me to upgrade to a 200tdi or a 300tdi let me say that I don't want to! It's not a case of trying to save money, Its a case of wanting a 2.5NA engine! I would however like to put a Bosch VE injector pump on my 2.5 NA engine. On reading this thread : 200tdi injector...

    Members practical assistance or help

I don't want to seem unhelpful but these are really useful pdf Land Rover Manuals | Landroverweb.com In fact here is the official manual for a 300tdi overhaul http://www.landroverweb.com/Pdf-files/300Tdi_Overhaul_Manual-Land-Rover.pdf

    British suspension

Well I fancy some LED headlights (I really like to have a clear view of the road!!) and some funky dials if I do a Svo convertion so I haven't gone mad in a nationalistic fever :speakenglish:. There seem to be a reasonable amount of British made parts for landys and I want to support that...

    British suspension

Avon are owned by cooper tyres which is an American company although they do make them in the uk I think. I think Uk owned uk made tyres don't exist  I just feel that my 1986 LR90 was built pretty much entirely in the uk. Why would I want to make my landy less British if I can avoid...

    British suspension

Thanks. I'm edging towards bearmach. I do rather wish I could find a truly british alternative. I guess I will have to accept that to replace certain components like the headlights etc I will have to make compromises. Was jus hoping for some british springy bits though :)

Ooo thanks. I'll steer clear of terrafirma then. I want something to last the long term. I want to build this landy to see me out!

    British suspension

I'm looking at suspension for my rebuild project. I'm wondering if anyone knows if bearmach or terrafirma are owned and made in the uk? It might sound silly but I want to try and keep my landy entirely British. Any thoughts?

    Yeeha!

Chester.. There seems to be a few ladies round there who appreciate a nice landy so you might be luck ;-) There will certainly be a rebuild thread, that's part of the fun! Just got to work out how to tell if my new landy is a Guernsey insurance write-off or not before I start the build

Thanks buddy! I can't wait to start a rebuild. Everything is pretty rotten. At least my partner is onboard :D so long as I paint it black

    Yeeha!

So after years of idolising LR and months of deciding what was right for me to buy I took the plunge and bought... a 1986 LR90 :clap2: Land rover ownership finally! Next step? Well first is delivery.. Then Im thinking a galv chassis from Richards and a new galv bulkhead... Let the fun begin!
