Hi I have 05 td4 and there is no sign of any cable or plug for air temp sensor on intercooler hose. My 03 td4 never had this sensor. Not sure if this might be my problem with lumpy tick over and smoke on cold start. Runs perfect after a minute drive.

Checked intercooler hoses after it had been stood for 3 hours and the oil had pooled a few places. Does anyone know how the oil gets into the hoses and would it be possible to fit a catch tank

Hi mollynomad, yes it has the bmw pcv, egr bypass, silicon hoses. I think the previous owner has had a go at curing this and that's why he sold it. I test drove it warm and it goes good. Thinking if it had anything to do with the other injectors it would show up when warm also.

I thought it may be fluid so checked behind rubber boot and looked dry. I will keep a eye on it. Have to read up on how to do a vcu test. I was told if you reverse and no tightness and noise all ok which it was apart from noise support bearings.

Finished fitting 2nd hand diff and all seems good . No noise or leaks.. Snow back on so never got to change ird oil so just left prop off. Cleaned brake drums where brake dust and water had mixed into a paste. Thanks for all advice.

No water but deep snow. Will give the drums a clean out after finished diff.Hopefully no more snow .

Props was not on when it happened so you woudent think it would be under stress.

Well here's the diff fully in half. Don't no the colour of the oil as it dumped it on the road. Found the recipe for the diff bushes and all 3 replaced with genuine parts 10month ago. Got second-hand diff from breakers today.
