Disco 2 fitting of aftermarket parking sensors

Nothing to do with driving skills, just a useful aid as are mirrors, trouble is all cars have blind spots that even mirrors can't see, particularly behind the rear doors of any 4x4. Any child behind one can easily be missed. But I don't want to get into that argument, all I want is some advice...

Disco 2 fitting of aftermarket parking sensors

Obviously not big enough for me to see! :o A set of circumstances where parking sensors would have saved the day. You had to be there! Anyhow! what's wrong with Parking sensors, just as useful as ABS, airbags, seat belts, power steering etc. etc. :p Now let's 'ave some bloody useful...

Disco 2 fitting of aftermarket parking sensors

Hi All, Ok, I want to fit some parking sensors to my disco2 'cos last tuesday in the Asda car park I dented a delivery van door 'cos the pratt parked behind me while I wasn't looking, I'm not so bothered about the dent in the van, but it put a tiny scuff mark on my bumper and that's just not on...

    2002 td5 noise from clutch

Nope, I think we're at cross purposes here. When I talk about reversing with the clutch pedal halfway down, what I am trying to say is that when I reverse out of my drive in the morning as I get to the public road there comes a point when I have to press the clutch pedal to allow me to stop to...

    2002 td5 noise from clutch

hello, Thanks for reply, not a Landrover dealer, but they have done them before and I assume it was a full kit, I've used this garage many times and they don't skimp on parts. I've just read on another forum that several owners have exactly the same problem and that the noise appears when the...

    2002 td5 noise from clutch

Hi, When car is cold ie. first run in the morning, when I reverse out the drive and depress the clutch pedal (vehicle not moving) I am getting a noise like a dry bearing, can anyone confirm that it is more than likely the clutch release bearing. I have just had a new clutch fitted, I had a...

    TD5 - 34.5 mpg!

Hi, Martin, I'm getting 34 to 35 out my 2002 td5, manual, like it says in the hand book, keep the revs between 2000 and 3000 for best economy, keep the tires at the correct pressures and change the airfilters at the required intervals. Not bad for a 2+ ton 4wd gas guzzler. Not quite as good...

    '93 200TDI wiring diagram

Hello, Does anyone have a wiring diagram for a '93 200TDI that they can send me. (pdf file). I have a 200 TDI Haynes, but starts at '94 and wiring is not the same. A friend of mine has this particular 200TDI and the electrics are playing up big time. Starter motor won't turn without bypassing...

    td5 rattle on over run

Hello all, Thanks for the replies, unfortunately none of them match my noise. I've checked everything you've all said and it seems to be in order. So not sure what it could be. I'm thinking it may be something to do with the exhaust, maybe a loose baffle or could it be something to do with the...

    td5 rattle on over run

Hi Scotty, Thanks for the info, but just been and checked it and it's perfect. In fact had a good look underneath and it all looks perfect. The car is a late 2002 with lower than average mileage and is in excellent condition throughout. So still not sure what it could be. Thanks & Regards RichardG

    td5 rattle on over run

Hello, I wonder if anyone can tell me what the problem might be or maybe it's normal. I have series 2 td5 and as I change up through the gears as the engine speed drops for the next gear I get like a rattle, something like when you put a fag packet in your bike wheel when you was a kid. :D...

    Immobiliser issues

Hello, I have a series 2 td5 and had the same problem as you, I even called the breakdown service once after it refused to start after waiting twenty minutes, arming and disarming. I sat back and waited for the breakdown truck to arrive. He arrived and turned the key and the bloody thing...

    Series 2 Alarm

Thanks again Mantamad, Just two more questions. Did you fit your replacement starter motor? I've just been told that the exhaust pipe has to be dropped to allow access to the starter motor, is this true? Regards RichardG

Series 2 steering drop arm ball joint

Thanks Battenburg, Is that just the ball joint or does that include the tube as well. Or should I say, has the tube got it's own part number. I'll try it another way, does the drop arm or drag link consist of four parts all with their own part numbers, that would include two ball joints one...

Series 2 steering drop arm ball joint

Hi, I just need to know (quickly please) if the balljoint (which attaches the drop arm to the steering box) can be replaced without replacing the whole drop arm. I've had a quick look and it looks like the joint is swaged onto the drop arm and the adjuster is at the other end (wheel end.) If...

    Series 2 Alarm

Hi everyone, Just had a three week holiday touring with my series 2 disco and caravan. Really impressed with the way the car handled the caravan, been a pleasure to drive. However, I am still having problems with the alarm, I thought I had mastered it, but during a solo outing to a big shopping...

    Series 2 Alarm

Hi Billy, I seem to have mastered my little problems I had when I first got the vehicle, I am now happy. The problem that I had initially as I reported at the top of this thread actually turned out to be the key. The key blade has a stop near the fob which has been cut so that the blade is too...
