    Range Rover P38 DSE chip

Your right DATATEK. Start problem sorted at last. Second set of heater plugs eventually allowed the car to start. These little plugs are certainly a vital piece of equipment and very variable in quality. Has anyone had their car chipped to improve performance or has it proved to costly?

The problem of cold start is still present even with the glow plugs working. I understnad the reason for the allowance. However, the mechanic who is doing the job has not used the shim to set the timing with the camshaft setting tool. Looking through RAVE prompted me to investigate the...

    Range Rover P38 DSE chip

I understand that a number of the diesel engines on the P38 have been 'chipped' to improve performance. Anyone got any comments on this is it a good idea or does it lead to more headaches?

    P38 Diesel start problems

Ok thanks for the advice. I think there could be a problem with the heater plugs..or the timing with the No 4 plug as the engine simply won't fire. I think it needs a sniff of Easy Start?
