    Fuel pressure sensor dodgy connector

I've got a dodgy connector on the fuel pressure sensor. If the engine starts to run a bit rough wobbling the connector instantly sorts it, taking it off and on a couple times makes it fine for a brief while. I've gone at it with a can of contact cleaner which helped for a few months. Now...

    Uneven idling, TD4

Our TD4 is idling a bit erratically. Its fluctuating around 50rpm. Its not all the time but pretty often. Any ideas where to start looking?

    Rear window not lowering enough

I've had a look around. The motor power lead had rubbed on the door and broken the insulation, I guess it must have earthed out. No other noticeable damage. No fuses blown that I can see. I've taped it up and re-calibrated but it still rubs on opening, The window wont stay partly open either...

    Rear window not lowering enough

Our rear window is barely lowering enough to open the door. It rubs on the seal. Once open I can push it down another 10mm. It closes fine if push it down. Might there be something loose or needing a grease? Anybody had something similar before I go poking around? '03 td4

    Poor idling/loss of power

Sounds a bit what like mine was doing. Pretty sure it was a dodgy connector Details in this thread: http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f9/stuttering-td4-105000.html

    stuttering td4

Symptoms sound pretty similar. Our problem one was the connector on the end of the block under the cover just here:

    stuttering td4

When ours was stuttering erratically it was a dodgy electrical connection on one of the fuel sensors. Taking it off and on a few times helped. A bit of contact cleaner seems to have worked.

    additional fob

I looked into this for mine as I only have one fob and was told it was dealer only. Would love that info to be wrong, though.

    Removing freelander headlight

I need to remove the headlamp unit as I need to track a dodgy connection to the indicator. I can't work out how it comes out. I've removed the two bolts on top but its still held at the bottom. How do I get it out?

    Handbrake sticking

I've got an 03 TD4 and the handbrake sticks on if it parked for a few days. Pops off if I drive in reverse but it would be nice to fix it as we often leave it a while without driving. Is this a strip-down, grease and rebuild job or something else?

    TD4 problem - please help!

Could be a dodgy connector to one the fuel pressure sensors. Go through them one by one taking them off and on a few times. They do get a bit corroded.

    Reading fault codes.

    Is it not possible, then?

    Reading fault codes.

Is it possible to read fault codes with some nifty trick on an '03 TD4 or do you need a special bit of kit? If so what is the LZ favourite?

    Problem removing battery

That's pretty much what I did. I used a bent bit of studding and nut. All fixed now

    Problem removing battery

Thanks chaps. I've just finished drilling the head off. A bit awkward to the drill it straight but got through in the end. The tray is out ready to fixed with something better.

    Problem removing battery

I'm trying to get the battery out. There's a white plastic clamp holding it down which is fixed with a 13mm headed bolt. The bolt is just turning, not loosening. I can just about reach the back of the bolt and it feels like it taps into the plastic, there is no nut. Tried a little bit of brute...

    Flat Battery

The battery on my TD4 was completely flat so I charged it up for a couple of hours and it started fine. There's never been an issue before so I presumed something had been left on but I couldn't find anything. The next day it was flat again. Any ideas what might be draining it?

    Intermittent fuel(?) problem

I've got a very intermittent fault. A few weeks ago the power completely cut out on the motorway. Pulled onto the hard shoulder. Restarted it and drove without issue. A few days later it did the same thing but wouldn't restart. Called the RAC who wiggled the fuses and relays and it started...
