hi the only reason for wanting to leave the heads on is i have just rebuilt the top end and is running great apart from the oil loss. i think the rear oil seal is leaking so engine out or gearbox out. and start again as i dont think i can manage the gearbox. why do you have to break the glaze on...

hi guys can you tell me if rebuilding a v8 can the pistons be removed from the crankcase bottom without having to take the head off. i would be changing seals bearings and shells. the engine would be out of the car so turing it over on a stand would be easy, thanks

hi have checked under the bell housing to see if i am loosing oil, just the normal drip. no smoke coming out the back end. have been topping up to the top of the dipstick mark will fill next time between marks. so at a loss as to why i have had the oil drop down. thanks

hi solved the water loss problem, but seem to be using a bite of oil. not burning oil and not dripping out the bottom. thinking of using a thicker oil as using 10-30 part synthetic at the moment. any body got any idea,s. thanks

thanks peter checked today no water loss although had to do a bodge up on the hose until i get the new one tuesday will put in some antifreeze. rang nean overland went over there to get the hose offered me a td5 hose ,thanks a lot great help. dave

hi replaced the split tubes with new ones there is a vac pump and if the the pipes are split it will not hold the cruise control cable.

hi guys thanks for your help. just come off the phone to landrover. they said that the hole on the right hand side of my v8 is the old hole for the sensor. they said landrover moved up the sensor. so i need a alloy cover to cover the hole. 28.00 by the way who,s kidding who here. please any comments

hi any body come across this before. on the opersite to the starter where the bell housing bolts on just below the sensor, there is a round hole and you can see the ring gear. should there be a bung in there, landrover have no idea having spoke to them a few times. its not shown on the rav cd...
