I guess it could. If they're worn through, it'll make the same noise as metal grinds on metal. I would check them out if I were you. The rear brakes are used the same as the front brakes, not only by the handbrake...

Have you checked all of them? I've found that if one is sticking, only one pad degrades and start making a noise.

The garage I trust did it in 4 hours. So that's about reasonable. 10 hours is far to much. However, timing belts are meant to last 80k, not 60k, as far as I know...

The "xenon" bulbs are a nice gimmic, but don't expect anything spectacular from them. There is no real xenon in them, they just mimic the cool xenon light. But since they don't cost that much more, why not. Looks a bit better if you ask me. Putting in real xenon light units costs a lot for a bit...
