Well did disconnect the fuel and hooked up to "fresh" diesel from a can, ran for a while, still same smoke, so that would mean no water. leaves the gasket thus?:confused:

Well, the famous "cold iron plate behind the exhaust test" concluded a liquid substance, clearly see through. didn't taste it. But where does/should the steam come from? ever since I took it appart the entire car hes been in the garage.

hi there all , thanks to all members and threads, i finally managed to strat and drive my 1693 2A. All mjor problems solved but 1. exxecive smoke from exhoust. all, new gaskets, no watter in diesel, no air in pipes, not seen if the head was broken. Might wanna change to 200tdi. any suggestions?
