too late now put it all on careful, tightened it down a bit. Now im gonna wait about 15 minutes like it says before i tighten it right down. trouble is it says in the book that they should be tightened to 6 to 8 lb/ ft but my torque wrench only goes dow to 20 will it balls up if i do over...

Cheers slob put quite a bit on last time, and used some non setting stuff so might have had some high spots like u say. Havnt got Hylamar using some solvol universal stuff this time. should be ok though do you think, or am i better off popping ouyt to get something different.

all goin sweet. only trouble i cant get a good seal on me rocker cover so leaking a bit of oil there so ive got a new gasket and give it another try.

quicker cos u know where it all goes got me pistons at half 12, and was torqueing the head down by about half 4. Just got the tappets and the other bits to put back tommorow. The sump went back easier than i thought as well just rested it on one arm and got 2 bolts in to hold it. Hardest thing...

If ur got a Haines, then that should give u the torques. Those i gave u are out of the workshop manual.

the big end caps gotta be torqued to 37-41 Nm or 27-30 lb/ft an the head bolts gotta be 115-130 Nm or 85-96 lb/ft rocker shaft pedestals 20-27Nm or 15-20 lb/ft the head bolts gotta be done in the right order though Pos or you could warp the head

the bearing pos will only be for one so you will need 4 i presume you have ordered 4 pistons as well cos they dont come as a set either

Stig is right Pos but they normally come with Gudgen pins and small ends but that is it

Hi Pos how are you doing all me pistons and 1 valve ordered now should come Thursday all the valves re laped and the bores honed and all surfaces cleaned ready for the gaskiits so im gonna have a beer now cos ive earnt it.
