I was told with the 300 you have to move the engine mounts though and the 300 is as close to a straight swap as you can get. I have also been told that the 300 is not as reliable.

Hi David When you say the timing being too far retarded do you mean the fuel timing as the power did seem to go all of a sudden. There is a small fuel leak coming from the top of the injector pump do you think this may be related to the loss of power.

use the small sponge roller Pos. Even when you do the patches you will still get close enough to the edges. You can roll straight on but it wont be as thick and you have to cut in with the brush anyway so time you do all the cutting in you might as well carry on with the brush. so do a panel and...

When it comes to the painting pos you want to brush it on and then rll over it to take all the brush marks out. Dont wait too long though cos the anchor paint dries quite quick about 10 minutes or so no longer. You will end up with a decent finish that way.

Theres an old sherpa engine on there at the mo as well Pos. Its exactly the same engine and will be a lot cheaper that a tdi transplant, if the low power of an na suffices.

Pos I am now certain its my bores that are worn cos as you know i done exactly the same overhaul when you done yours. Thats why ive given up looking for other reasons and gonna do a transplant next year so hopfully it will last till then.

Hi Pos keeping my ears open cos ive got the same prob. Im doing a transplant next year now, so i dont want to spend too much time or money for money. this years gonna be a lift kit.

Thats it pos you tell em. Know how you feel I was pulled up by not putting full stops and commers in once. So dont feel offended, just some people get the wrong end of the stick sometimes.
