I have checked the Viscous Fan when car is at working (norm) temp. the fan turns without too much friction but stops when I stop turning it - is the fan ok or does it need replacing????

spadgr - the ac work well no real probs, prob could do with a regas at sometime in the future AC Fans do not however come on when AC is switched on - the compressor does kick in and the cabin has fine cold air circulating so i take it that the Ac is working just not the Condensor Fans!!!!

thanks for that lads, the cars done nearly 150k, so its maybe time to bite the bullet and but a new rad - do you think i should invest in a new condensor as well? this is all great but I still have the rob with theAC cooling fans not kicking in???

Cheers, i'll take it out and clean any debris - but any idea why the fans don't come anymore - they do work if i hotwire them to the battery and when i short the relay, i've swapped the relays but no change!

I've got a similar prob. my range rover overheats when i turn the ac on!!! my front fans don't work either and have check the fuses, relays, and ac temp swith to no avail - i am still baffled so its no ac for me - lets hope it rains this summer!!!

Thanks to everyone who have contributed - i have now after far too much time and effort resolved the problem - until the next time - i am still thinking of the coil solution - it makes real long term sense for peace of mind!!!!!
