Lol, yeah i didnt think the seal would be u/s so soon but it had become indented from where it seals on the cam cover, turning it seems to have done the job.

Ok so to conclude this saga, replaced the intercooler hose with a new one and it hasn't moved since. Turned the seal in the cap over and that also seems to be sorted, many thanks :)

Still have the oil leak from the filler cap, i was thinking it could be the cap after all this but the intercooler hose has moved back away from the intercooler again. Any ideas? Cheers.

Either for them or us, for instance if something went wrong, would insurance cover it do you think?

Ok so changed the turbo, was an ok job, removing the section of exhaust would have been easier with help but luckily the turbo bolts came out no problem. I am however still getting the oil from the filler cap, cheers.

As far as I could see there wasn't any, the boost hose hasn't moved as much since cleaning out the intercooler and to begin with there wasn't much oil coming out of the filler cap however after a few days there has been a load leak out. There is definately something wrong, I have to press really...

Yes I cleaned out the intercooler just the other day. Incidentally the hose that connects to the intercooler from the turbo keeps sliding along the intercooler duct even though it has a new jubille clip, almost like the intercooler is blocked hence why i cleaned it, that and poor power recently.

No smoke just a bit of oil with the cap lifted a bit, i did a compresion test recently and that was ok, there is oil around the joint to the inlet so i am assuming something is coming through there, maybe the pcv is not opening enough, I obtained a part number so maybe I might be able to find a...

I stripped the cam cover down and it was all nice and clean, the pcv seemed ok but then I wouldn't be able to tell if it wasn't. Would putting the old style breather that goes on the outside make any difference? With regards to the filler cap, i have got the original old one or a britpart...

It had a new engine but all the ancillaries came from the original engine, it is alloy yes.

The sensor is there oddly, just not plugged in. I put a new cap on but it still did the same.

Ok so bmw dont list it either so i guess i will have to have a look at it, from memory it seemed ok but like you say may just need cleaning again. I think the oil leak i mentioned is from the front cover gasket so im not too worried about that, but i am still getting oil from the filler cap...

It seems to be coming from the head gasket but that was replaced this year, i tried to enquire about a pcv from land rover but apparently it doesnt show up on the parts diagram, cheers.
