    Thanks for the heads up on that, I didn't realise it could cause damage. I can see this being a very expensive job. So how much will just replacing the rears improve traction in snow? Cheers mate!

    No, speed rating is the letter that follows the number.

    Anyone know if a 97 load rating is ok on the TD4? The stock tyres are Continental 101h but ive noticed the spare is a 97?:confused:

    I guess thats the compromise, if the tread is thicker its always going to increase road noise. Rather that than be in a ditch i suppose. :rolleyes: Glad to hear they are good in the snow, feel more confident about getting them now. Thanks!

    its the STR's, the guy couldnt spoke very highly of them when i mentioned the snow.

    Not really, the Pirelli is described as an all round/wet weather tyre.
