Rather stupidly i have forgotten to check if the hoses going into the heater matrix are actually hot or if there is a blockage before them. Will give it a try tomorrow.

Right i have a 300tdi disco 97 plate with 160k miles on the clock. I am having an irregular fluctuation of the temp gauge, it will stay fine for days then it will rise towards the overheat mark but never gets to the top. If i take my foot off the gas for a bit the needle drops back down, same up...

If i had a bit of tube i would have done it FFS......... Doesn't matter now, i drained it with a combination of front and back screenwash action................emptied some hot water and disinfectant and drained again. Now its filled with screenwash and deionised water.

I did a belated google on it and it said there are 2 screws at the bottom through the wheel arch, will have a go dinner time.

97 Disco 300tdi.

How difficult is it to remove, i undid the 2 bolts at the top then got stuck as my ham fists dont fit in anywhere and i didnt want to break anything.

Is there any way to empty it other than with spending half hour washing the screen. Mine is reaking of god knows what, so i need to empty put some anti bacterial **** in to kill off the stink then refill with some tidy screen wash.

Bloody typical, its used to lubricate one of our printing presses, and a 25ltr normaly lasts 2 years so to "obtain" 2 and 1/2 litres wouldnt be noticed. Great dipping into my beer fund again then.

Fitted the EGR plate thingemy and replaced a split top hose. Also leveled my back door as it wasnt shutting properly.

I was thinking of making my own. I work in a large printing company so have access to every type of paper and card stock imaginable. What is the best to use, or does it need to be a metal one, as i am also able to use sheet aluminium 0.85 microns thick.

1997 2.5 tdi xs. I have only had it a week, but the cost of taking it back to the dealer for what may be a simple'ish problem doesnt seem worth it.
