The rings

Got the stuff out mate. Anyway its much more expensive here. The rings have no marks on them except the package says the position it should be installed

Well my plan is, new rings and new bearings, the pistons have no cracks or spilts so they seem fine.

precisely mate. All available in colombo.

So guys how bad is it? Gonna get down the parts now..

The head

Bearings worn, 1 showed extensive wear

the bores seem 100% good

Removed the head n pulled out the pistons, well seems 1 particular piston has a odd top, as if it has warped

Well they are pretty knackered too mate. The military sold that bunch and upgraded to TdCi ones. Almost every spare is available here, but a tough job to find em, and they cost heaps. Even basic bits.

Thanks again, quite usefull stuff. Tell me roughly how many miles would I have to "run in" the engine?

pos - that would be quite an experience, I'll try to remember your way of stalling it. Anyways I will be taking her apart tomorrow.

Well looking at the engine it seems thats its never been taken apart since it made out of the factory, I'm no expert on on engines so I really cant be sure.. Any ways to identify previous engine repair?

Well I tried fixing replacing the seal sometime back, didnt help.. So I got a complete breather brand new, even that didnt stop the oil, as seen in the piccie.
