    series III 88 hardtop restoration

Washed all the cars today (mine, my wife's and the LR). Don't reckon the Landy has been washed for years! Obviously the bodywork is in poor condition, but even that quick once over has made a difference!

Looked to replace rear indicators and sidelights/brake lights as previous ones were variously broken and or not working. I found that Heath Robinson must have owned the car at some point once I took the internal covers off behind the lights to get at wires! Left rear....not so bad: Right...

    Is this a 12J??

Hi all, just trying to get a service pack (filters etc) from paddocks and it raised an interesting Q. They were questioning whether in fact it is a 2.5d and said a VRM check shows the engine as a 12v. I just checked V5C and it says 12v too on the engine serial number. Anyone able to help me...

    Is this a 12J??

Thanks @Rodeo Joe, really handy to know. The non standard front end doesn't bother me aesthetically, but considering reinstating to normal as the bonnet on current front end doesn't fit great! Thanks for the advice :)

just trying to identify what the series/code this 2.5 n/a diesel engine in my 1983 Series III is. I've looked for the serial number on the side near injectors but can't see it. Any help gratefully received, thanks!

    series III 88 hardtop restoration

Hi, I'm new and got a fair bit planned for my new purchase that we picked up this week. I know its got a non standard grill etc for a Series III, but that doesn't bother me much, its really about getting it mechanically sound so that when my son (@Seth 88 Jnr) turns 17, his first car is safe...

Thanks, I'm going to start a new thread now as guided by Marmaduke above as just been out in a break between showers to take a look at what needs doing etc and would like a hand identifying/confirming a few things

Ha! Yes, that was a pic just before we drove away from picking it up after the seller kindly gave us a couple of gallons of diesel!
