    Bushwires

My worry is that i live 20miles from my land, and the access lane necessitates their use. Hmm, maybe i should downgrade to flexible wires which can be tied up on the rack.

    Bushwires

nothing pervy i'm afraid, I mean the wires to protect the windscreen. my question: are they legal in the UK? would they be acceptable if they were made of 25mm sq section steel? on the Disco, I have them welded to angle brackets bolted using the front screw on the wing, and a bar clamped to...

Crazy landy ideas -- #37 Twin wheels

another crazy idea from the Devonshire nuthouse. we've probably all seen pics of tractors with twin wheels, esp. for plowing etc., has anyone ever tried twinning a landrover? would certainly make bog-laning more fun. Hmm, crazy idea #38 ...slightly smaller diameter offroad wheels as twins...

    roof lightbar, wiring advice please.

Can anyone give me some suggestions for routing power to the roof for high level lamps without compromising roof leaks etc. Could i run the wires through the stock rails, bringing them out through the crossbar pin holes? any other ideas?

    now thats a roof rack

if the guy being reposessed tries to get his money back by calling the insurance to say it's stolen. old scam, doesn't work any more as the first thing the insurers do is check with the repo lists.

    Winch bumper... REAR?

Thanks stu, that's the plan then. i'll have to find a way to make a new rear bumper. ...any helpful designs on a postcard.

    Winch bumper... REAR?

"boot floor"... i've heard of those ...were they an optional extra on the Disco??? most seem to be without one.:D

    Winch bumper... REAR?

Oh it's a good winch. 5ton DAF400 pulled itself out of a few situations. Cable is old and frayed though. it's been misused by a previous and the 3 cores have separated. simple £30 replacement i know. trouble is it's only 9000lbs, and 'old noggin' (P926NOG) already has a 12000lb fitted on the...

    Battery Connectors

anyone know what these connectors are called, and where can i get some? ...thinking of making a multi-car charging system in the garage. Also, if fitted to a landy, any idea what would happen if they got submerged in water? what happens to a landy in water if the battery shorts? never done...

    Winch bumper... REAR?

Thanks for all the offers of taking it off my hands, but i think i'll keep it. it's old and tired. Was on the DAF400 spec lift ...hmm, shall i mount the speccy on the back of the disco ...nah, she'd rip in half -- boot floors are a weak point anyway. anyone know what the pull limit is for the...

    Winch bumper... REAR?

Daft idea time. does anyone know if there is such a thing as a rear bumper with winch mounts? Just wondering what to do with an X9 Superwinch. Seems a bit of overkill to just bolt it to the front of a car trailer.

What's the cheapest landy i can get?

Good idea about the volvos, had a P reg S40 a few years back ...used to go, erm, how can i describe it... 'downhill rock climbing' in it. I beat the crap out of it and it would still do 120mph on the way home.
