I had the lift pump off to test it. It all seemed ok. Gave it a good old clean out and checked for suction all seems to be ok. I'm in Greece at the moment so looking for a service kit to change all the filters. Only changed 6 months ago but better safe than sorry what with Greek diesel too...

Thanks gegs88, I checked that the day I had the problem. It had a small amount of brown water in it but not enough to warrant a problem. Still having a few issues but its much better. It has trouble starting in the morning after its been stood overnight. After a while it starts and runs fine...
