I’ve solved the problem. That was to stop being an idiot and turn the key the correct way! ‍♂️ Now I just need to work out if the key fob battery is dead or if the receiver wire had corroded. Thanks for your suggestions. *that symbol was an embarrassed emoji!

When my mate tried to put the rod in to open the door latch the alarm went off which would suggest the battery is fine. Going to keep trying with the lock too. Cheers.
