    Noise After Starting

When I release the key on my Disco td5, the engine starts normally, then straight after (for only 1 or 2 seconds) there is a noise from somewhere behind the dash or bulkhead area. It sounds like a relay chattering. It appears to be associated the the starter motor. I'm not familiar with the...

    Cooking oil in TD5

Off topic..........but this thread has been a "multi" Just heard of a guy who "modified" his tank with and extended and sealed filler neck. Filled the neck with pump diesel and the rest of the tank with red. He got dipped and was caught by them measuring the temperature of the sample which was...

    Cooking oil in TD5

Did you read the email correctly? The issue with engine oil is not the 2500 litre limit..........it is duty payable from the start!

    Dico Wheel Nut Covers

Just noticed the title:doh: I did, of course, mean Disco:D

    Dico Wheel Nut Covers

It's all clearer now!.............not having the LR wheel brace I assumed they would be as any other wheel nut under the cap. With the caps being loose and moving about I guessed that was what the plastic tool was for. I had no idea it is specifically for the cover on the locking nut (if mine...

    Dico Wheel Nut Covers

I was about to go down the screwdriver route,James (thanks for all you help,by the way) but started thinking about the damage to the caps and the alloys. It's a bit hard to get behind them too. They can't be on that well if the standard poxy little plastic tool can pull them off:confused:
  12. trucker5774

    Dico Wheel Nut Covers

I am talking about the alloy caps over the wheel nuts NOT the locking wheel nuts. The black plastic tool which came with the tool kit has teeth missing. I presume these things regularly break. Is there a trusted way of removing the caps or do I have to buy a tool?

    Disco - fuel overspill?

Thanks everyone..........just stripped the pump out. The seal was half way down the pump............the work of a monkey I suspect ............now,how to get the wheel nuts off with the broken tool:(

    Disco - fuel overspill?

Would this only be evident on a full tank, due to the fuel meeting the top of the tank. It it accessed from above ("boot" area).............or just a coincidence that it has leaked now?

    Disco - fuel overspill?

When I said brim it...........it wasn't visible in the filler neck (which is quite tall compared to my van) But, yes point taken guys. I will try a gallon less next time........unless anyone else has another view?

    Disco - fuel overspill?

I filled my Disco td5 (2002) to the brim last night. Took it out today and noticed fuel was evident on the floor under the vehicle, apparently coming from somewhere on top of the tank and emerging on both sides. When I bought it a week ago, I was underneath it and no sign of fuel whatsoever on a...

    Whats your clutch pedal like?

I bled mine as you describe above. I did it on my own using a piece of wood to press and hold the pedal. I reckon the TD5 hold about 200ml...........very little, as you say!
