    Fuel line blocked????

Ok, I came to a juddery stop a couple of weeks ago, finally go around to having a look at the car.... I unhooked the fuel line from the fuel rail and it's struggling to come through. I think the filter needs changed. I'll do it myself but need to know if all the o rings etc are included...

    1.8 petrol judder....

That'd explain the judder right enough...... :D:D Again thanks for the replies, makes me feel better that it's probably not totally f*cked! :)

    1.8 petrol judder....

Must admit that's what I was thinking along the lines of. I was going to be late for work so just left it. I'll have to go recover it and have a look when I've got time. Ok so if I burn it the hippo, how long will it burn for with a full tank?

    1.8 petrol judder....

Had a search about but mostly diesels seem affected. On the way to work was driving along happily (yes - happy in a hippo!) and it started juddering and losing power. I pulled over and will pick the car up later on. Any ideas what to check out or try for this? It's full of fuel -...

Leave in Gear or Leave the Handbrake on !

I suppose it could have been! Oh well never mind!

Leave in Gear or Leave the Handbrake on !

To give you a sensible answer, leave it in gear. Don't put on the handbrake at all. If you are wanting to be really 'highway code' then park it facing down with wheels turned into the kerb slightly too. Hope that helps.

Hallo everyone Im new on the site

It's flipping freezing in Aberdeen tonight so it must be fairly chilli offshore. I used to go offshore myself, still work in the industry but in the office now.

    Back to Black for Trim?

By far the best plastic treatment I've used is Meguiars All Season Protector. It's very good, completely streak free and beads water very well. It doesn't feel greasy and the plastics seem really well protected with it on. The finish is very nice, not overly shiney (can look cheap in my...

Swirl Marks on Black Paint Work

Some bilt hamber autobalm on it. It's pretty inexpensive and gives a great result. Quite tricky to apply but once you suss it it's easy. Fills the swirls nicely too!

Swirl Marks on Black Paint Work

Just a little follow up. Clay doesn't cut. It pulls out imperfections from the laquer. It leaves the paint smooth. Yesterday I decided to tackle some very flat paint on my drivers side. I washed, clayed and washed again. I then attacked the paint with cutting paste (106FA) and my PC7424...

Swirl Marks on Black Paint Work

Well it's personal preference. A nice layer of tar and mud works for some. Not me I'm afraid. I have a pampered gay 4 x 4. It was a bit neglected but I'll get it back to nice condition. I actually see it as a challenge to remove swirls etc. If indeed that was a serious question then...

Swirl Marks on Black Paint Work

Super Resin Polish has a mild cutting effect. I am going to tackle my metallic red 98 model with my Porter Cable 7424 (orbital polisher) and menzerna cutting compound and top off with various polish and wax. Bilt hamber wax is VERY good at filling swirls. I apply up and down on side panels...

    Landie Virgin!

I wish. The more toys you have, the more drains on your pocket! Oh, wheres the fun in going to the dealers! The robbing b**gers nick all your money and don't even clean the car properly! Rather get stuck in myself and try to learn something! Thanks for the welcome!

    What should I look over??

Well cheers for that. I'll keep doing the usual maintenance and saving up my pennies.

    What should I look over??

Thought it might happen. Just looking for an idiots guide to basic maintenance I suppose. Grease this and that, prod that with a screwdriver, check for this here and that there! You know the score. Just trying to be proactive and use others experience to my advantage!

    What should I look over??

Ok, new to the freelander and to be honest it doesn't have many problems really! touch wood...... I think I've doomed it now! Anyway, off work so have time to have a look over it. I'm no mechanic but I'll give most things a go. Is there anything I should be looking at for a preemptive...

    Landie Virgin!

Ha ha! Luckily I only work 7 days then get 7 off! 7 days off I see are going to be spent shouting and swearing at the freelander! All part of the fun I guess, I just hope it lasts long enogh to get me hooked then I can see what other landie I can buy to bankrupt me and make me bald! Thanks...

    Landie Virgin!

One thing for sure the Rangie would cost a hell of a lot more to fix! Got the 'gaylander' cheap so I'm expecting a few issues! It'll do the job I'm sure! I'll use it until it breaks or I can afford a Defender with a big snorkel!
