Forgive my ignorance but can I not use arc to weld chassis ? Body panels I know you can blow holes in with one but on thicker steel will it not work as well? (Hangs head in shame at lack of research)

I had this on my Disco 1, it ended up just being the connection in the bulb holder! Not sure if its the same on the 2 but might be worth a try! Same with the indicator bulb holders.

300tdi 1994! Mate says its a chain and won't need changing! I thought belt and I'm not sure now? Any ideas guys? Thanks
