    scumbags the ****ing lot of them. have we on landyzone enough parts to start a rebuild? i have a series windscreen and surround with the early lucas wiper motors that i would gladly give up.

    thats on a run...... it was leaking from number 4 inj but thats sorted now, mind you it was showing 16mpg. is the trip computer accurate??

    p38 wont start 2.5 diesel bmw

    pump timing, bit of a black art that! BMW specialist over here told me scribe 2 marks from the FIP to the block then slacken the 2 bolts and rotate the FIP towards the engine about 1.5mm(width of a hacksaw blade!) he said thats what they do with older 525's that suffer from the same thing ONLY...

    the other thing to try is that one way valve thing you plumb into the brake/clutch circuit. that way when they put down the clutch it stays disengaged, so no drive. cant remember the name of it tho!

    just to update you i swapped out no4 for an inj from a bmw 525tds took all of half an hour! the top part of the body with the wires in it was loose on the main part:mad: what i thought was an oil leak was actualy the diesel washing over the engine and box:mad:. as a side effect it also idles...

    all pipes are good the body is damp up to the pipe union tho.... diesel all over the block on the oil filter side. wonder is it the copper sealing washer in the head..... anyone know what that wire/sensor actualy does and could it be bypassed with another std injector??

    number 4 inj on my p38 is wet and leaking so the side of the block is wet with diesel, are they the same on the bmw 525 tds/omega as theres a bimmer scrapped near me and i can have the injectors for free! is this a common thing or is it likely to be a seal that i can just swap out? ta mutchly vince
