could anyone possibly give us some dimensions of where there engine mounts are on the chassis on a 300 tdi defender. Also the dimensions of the gearbox mounts would be a massive help. some pictures od the mountings would be a great help. Cheers Joe:) P.S Any problems that anyone have...

From previous experience pal i would set it up completly ie with exhaust and ect then see if you have the same problem.

Hi we have bought some Insa Turbo Special Track Tyres 265/75/R16 for our freestyle rims and they catch the radius arms at full lock. Will 30mm wheel spacers stop this? we have wound out the steering stops but the turning circle is too poor. With wheel spacers will the tyres catch anything else...

I have but they do not wind out enough. i could get longer bolts but it leaves me with a poor turning circle.

im running 265x75xR16 on discovery freestyle alloys and they catch the radius arms at full lock and are abit close to the exhaust at the back end but they just clear. Were looking out for some wheel spacers so the wheels wont hit the radius arms!! But they will look awesome ours do! Cheers Joe

Ever since rebuilding our 200tdi discovery engine fitted to a defender, its nevver ran correctly a bit low on power and rough idling. we loosened the injector pipes on each injector whilst it was running and noticed the first injector makes no difference to the running of the engine if loosened...

The ones i have seen completely replace the hoop, but usually some foam that fits around the pipe is helpful to keep it nice and tight. They usually use that foam insulation, the same as used in house boiler pipes.

Im unaware of there being a way we just put a discovery back axle on ours, even a range rover will do as there the same.

Weve done this, you can just use the original calipers off your defender on the 200tdi axle theres no difference appart from the 2 pipes! you will have to slightly modify the brake pipe clamp which is behind the disc. Paul

havent got a rev counter so im not sure but it seems to be revved a bit harder than you would to pull of quickly?? i no thats not much of an anwser!

hi, weve just bought a turbo dial gauge for our defender which has a 200 Tdi discovery engine fitted and the turbo seems not to come in untill its revving quite high, slightly higher than you would usually drive it at is this normal? Does anyone else have a gauge fitted? and to get the maximum 1...

Ive just fitted a new turbo to my 200tdi discovery engine fitted in a defender and was wondering what the best Gauge was i could go for ive seen a few TIM turbo gauges which look quite well and follow the styling of the defenders dash? are they any good? And how is one fitted? Cheers:)

we made two struts either side the bulkhead ourselves and it worked beautifully. Not a big job just careful with a grinder. We removed the whole bulkhead right to the floor and sides but we had to cao the wheel arches either side. Make sure you dont want a Truck cab!!!

yes they will go on, we have a set of 300 tdi alloys on our 90!
