70000 miles full service every 4000 all filtres. Lost oil pressure down to 7 PSI should be 45 cold, stripped engine BTM end, was like new. Iam fitting new oil pump. Any body experinced this that can tell me any thing, not back together yet so not sure what it is or if it was pump. Any ideas. Mark

The oil filt is not a problem use strap and let engine cool or get burnt, dont forget the centrafugal one on top its important. Are you sure what sounds like a growl is not the damper opening on the aircon

Dont forget if you chip it you may need to swap manifold bolts moore power develops moore heat, and so moore expansion, which can and will snap the old bolts. I think they use longer bolts with some form of spacer to absorb the expansion

Have you put back a different grade of oil, had previous owner put thick oil in due to problems. Or did switch go faulty at same time as oil change coincidences do happen

If its a TD5 and you let filt get that bad you could have expensive trouble, they just dont tolerate muck in system. What model?

I think the diff lock is still in the box, just blanked of. And you get T.C instead, personaly i think its crap, fairly sure you can have TC programed out and diff lever reinstated

Dave to get back on topic i doubt its much of a problem just find that good bloke on Discos, and trust me you have the best 4x4 tow motor on the road

Traction control in my opinion is not a good thing, when it starts applying the brakes to spinning wheels, it slowly saps all youre power especialy when towing heavy load across muddy ground, you cant beat a 300 TDI in this situation

Any noise like that i would have to hear myself, but it could be the Traction control mesing about. Despite what youre suffering you have a good motor, and youre right you wont get that kind of money back. Find a good lad in youre area who knows discos well and keep away from main dealers stealers

Have just totaled up 6 mths of mileage and fuel and come back with 29.9 miles per gallon. This is a mix of towing, long journeys and round town (not much towing ) oh yes 52 plate TD 5, and i think thats fairly good. Have seen claims of 35 - 40 and must say do have my doubts, unless you switch...

If it helps my sun roof leaked on 52 TD5 took headlineing down found out let tube snapped off. It took me and my mate 2 hrs to job done with no experiance

Its a 52 plate will check aircon drains sound very possible

90s AND 110S are great wait till you drive one and compare it to a disco. The disco is far better to drive you dont need the window open to drive it
