Disco 2 1 out of 2 of our keys has stopped opening / locking the car and disarming the immobiliser

Thanks for the reply - sadly, no I don't. The key hasn't been dropped either, but I fully accept that if it had been, that that could have been a cause as you suggest.

Disco 2 1 out of 2 of our keys has stopped opening / locking the car and disarming the immobiliser

Hello to all We have a Disco 2 (2004), which we've had for a long old time now. We've always had two original keys, that have always both worked without fault. Yesterday, for some reason, one of the keys decided to stop working. Battery was still good, red light still came on when a button...

Is it possible to seal a very small ACE leak?

Sorry you didn't bother to read what I actually wrote before your sarcastic comment.... "...that others bodge their repairs with home-made pipes etc" Nowhere does it say in any post I've ever written "non-genuine parts is a bodge". At least have the courtesy and professionalism to quote...

Many thanks Sean - just awaiting forum approval so that I can actually read this!

Is it possible to seal a very small ACE leak?

Thanks for the name Pawl - I've been googling this for the last 20 mins, and all I can find is mentions of this amazing write-up on this forum in other threads, and other forums! I can't actually find the write-up itself. Anyone out there got a link to it please?

Is it possible to seal a very small ACE leak?

Thanks for this David - do you happen to know who did the work that you've seen and talked about above?

Is it possible to seal a very small ACE leak?

Yes - thanks for these two latest posts. I'm aware that a load of Disco owners convert their Disco's to remove ACE, and am aware that others bodge their repairs with home-made pipes etc. I won't be doing either of these things, and will only ever put genuine parts on my cars. I know it's more...

Is it possible to seal a very small ACE leak?

Thanks for the replies - I'm not "waiting for the system to fail" before I do something about it. I'm trying to amass some cash to have the work done. I've also been warned by the mechanic (as well as two others who have quoted), that the likelihood that this pipe replacement work may well...

Is it possible to seal a very small ACE leak?

How does one do that on a sealed (or at least it should be) hydraulic system?

Is it possible to seal a very small ACE leak?

Hello to all I do have a very small ACE leak at the moment, very frustrating, as my Landy mechanic found it the other week whilst doing the servicing stuff on it. Gggrrrrr. I'd asked him to check the system, as I'd noticed that the reservoir had dropped below the minimum mark, which I had...

Disco II Air suspension – the definitive guide

Sounds like you have a very small air leak from somewhere. Likeliest candidate is a very small hole in the airbag where it rolls over to allow the airbag to expand and compress, which is where they mostly all fail with time as they age - soapy water is the best way to try and find any little air...

Disco II Air suspension – the definitive guide

It sounds like at least one of the ride height sensors has broken (which you may not be able to obviously see visually) to send it higher than it should be. One question - does the pump actually turn off? It sometimes occurs that the compressor doesn't shut off unless the relay is physically...

Disco II Air suspension – the definitive guide

From what you describe, it can only be an air leak from somewhere in the system. No need to spend any money at all with Stratstone, as you've already got the right idea for finding where the air is coming from for free (that's all most mechanics will do to find the leak too).

Disco II Air suspension – the definitive guide

Result... Sounds like the relay got stuck open and the removal / refitting / swapping process was enough to free it up. Keep a good eye on it, as possible that it may get stuck open again - I'd be inclined to source a brand new one and replace it, even though it's freed up now - and keep the...

Disco II Air suspension – the definitive guide

Try replacing relay R5 (compressor) with R3 (headlamp wash) for a test to see if it isn't stuck open - if this cures it, remember to swap them back, and / or put a new one back in for the R3! From what you're saying, there doesn't appear to be a leak in the system otherwise it would likely...

Disco II Air suspension – the definitive guide

The yellow light on the dash should definitely stay on all the time it's at and stays at its extended height - the back-end should only start to go down if you drive off and gather over 25-30 mph (can't remember the exact speed that triggers the return to normal height), or pressing the...

Disco II Air suspension – the definitive guide

A mis-match in rear airbag heights, is most likely to be a faulty height sensor on one side... Could be another cause, but this is the most likely. If any part of the air suspension system fails, there are no warnings on the dash - it's just obvious from looking at the car, that it's not working...

Discovery TD5 - Handbrake Rattle / Some sort of other rattle at idle & 2,000 rpm

My pleasure - I always post up the solution to unusual problems when I have them. That old TD5 that had the rattle went a while a ago now, and the facelift Disco II ES that replaced her has been largely trouble free for the last year that we've had her. Only problem to report is being...

    foggy fog lights

Thanks very much for posting this... I've just spent half an hour lying underneath the truck to find that the two lower screws that secure the inner wheelarch (front) shielding don't want to move for love nor money! Hope that the five screws that are shown in your exploded diagram on each...
