So would there be any way to tell by looking at the Disco if it was a Jap import, some kind of mark or do they look the same?

nope, it is still in the same town it was first registered in, it doesnt have any kind of rust on it at all which is great but and a big but there is no service history, I am torn, could be to much of a risk.

Yeah I have read about the imports on here and there doesnt seem to be to much of an issue with imports, The dealer doesnt have the paper work for it and has no idea where it came from. Just wondered if i could find out somewhere.

Hello Chaps, I have done a registration check a 300tdi i like but it came up with imported YES, Year manufactured 1996, Date of first reg 1/5/1997, Used before first reg NO. Any one else had anything like that? How do i find out where it was important from? Cheers Steve

Hi, When a head gasket has been replaced does it mean at some point it will go again? Or should that be it. I suppose it depends the cause? Is there a trend, should i stay away from a disco 2 TD5 that has had the gasket done? Cheers Steve
