    Series III, worth buying?

Yes they certainly seem capable as hell. I've literally no experience of them in cities but sounds like should be okay. Will be mostly level driving and the odd traffic jam. Then the mountains etc on the weekends. Any concerns I had were not so much to do with Land Rovers but just older vehicles...

    Series III, worth buying?

Great advice, thanks everyone. @Land Raver you mentioned hills- there's aren't any serious ones on my commute but I did want to take it up the mountains and there are some steep hills- what will happen here? I'll be in no hurry but will it handle them okay?

    Series III, worth buying?

Yes I've three reasons for wanting it: 1) hauling stuff every so often 2) commuting to work as a second car cause often the other one is being used and 3) for no reason at all just because they're cool. I can see that numbers 1 and 3 should fit the bill perfectly, still a little concerned about...

    Series III, worth buying?

That's good. Yes ex-military as I understand it. Diesel. Commuting to work in one of these, in practice, what would it be like? About 6 miles each way.

    Series III, worth buying?

Thanks. They're asking €6,500 (Ireland). Generally are parts for these easy or hard to come by, and cheap or expensive? And is it reasonable to expect that these should start up and run reliably, or realistically am I going to be playing around with the choke etc on a winter morning for a while...

Advice on old defender for sale

Great thanks for the info. How much rust is acceptable? Looks like a bit on the passenger footwell in the pic for example, is that a concern?

Advice on old defender for sale

What do you think about the 1986 / 1976 thing? Is that an 80's model, does that mean it's an older chassis, and is that an issue?

Advice on old defender for sale

Thanks. Yeah it seems to be registered here so that part is okay. Also all pre-1980 vehicles here are classed as classic so that's good in terms of cheap tax/insurance etc. It's the vehicle itself that I'm trying to figure out- any opinion from what you see, anything to look out for?
