Great, I can see those agricultural uses. In principle on a long straight road can it do the job of cruise control :-) And whilst I probably wouldn't need to, can I adjust it in motion? I notice the accelerator moves to match it so presumably it's just literally another way of using the peddle?

Great, thanks for narrowing that down. Yes I'm pretty sure I tried it in both high and low 4th when I was testing it earlier. If it's the layshaft or bearings is that likely to be the kind of job I can do myself or is it a bit specialist? And are those types of parts fairly available?

Yes it goes perfectly in and out of each gear, just each gear does nothing at all and acts exactly like neutral.

Great, sounds like it should work well for the types of roads I have in mind. Is the clearance okay for car parks do you find, I think most smaller ones have a restriction of about 2 metres- what would the max height of a series iii without a roof rack be?
