First little glimmer of hope, finally (after what felt like an age....) fastening the first little piece of metal back onto another piece of metal was a great weekend!!!

And then the painting began....... only actually took about two and half weeks to pull most of this together. Main bodywork is Fuji white metallic to match the Discovery. Roof and checker plate in Raptor Black. Accessories, side steps, back wheel holder, bumpers etc in Matt Black.... dry and...

Space has definitely been an advantage, although by borrowing the corner of a mates garage, bits "go missing" all the time which is challenging. As for there weather, yes sometimes it feels like cheating but during the rainy season when this whole place flooded with over 2ft deep in water it...

2 months of final prep and treating / undercoating....

Don't forget on re-build - this is the inspiration for where we were trying to get to....

4 months of stripping, filling and re stripping..... (including getting the wheel arch interiors back to beautiful galvanised)

Stopped back and starting again.....

....and this is what we already have ..... So I decided I'd try do a Defender 90 version of this, but with an open top for safari.. Kind of "his and hers" as the missus seems to "own" the Disco now

where it all began.....

...1988 Defender 90 - in not great shape. Dropped in a 3.9 refi RR V8 and RR axles / breaks etc. Manual grearbox and build for safari..... Photos on their way.... Almost done now so story should make sense...

new to this, have a Disco 4 with a few safari tweaks but for the last six months have been stripping down and rebuilding a 1988 soft top defender 90 .....but decided to upgrade and drop in a 3.9 EFi V8 and upgraded RR axles etc. coming along but feels like taken an age, should be worth it.....
