Just bringing up an old post, the problem still seems to be there, doing 30mph in 5th the noise is very obvious and I tried to pull the handbrake up a couple of clicks and the noise goes, I have had the front propshaft off (still the same) and the the rear propshaft off and the noise is a bit...

I've done the same with a Durite 4000rpm marine tachometer, good quality, waterproof and more realistic for a Tdi at 4000 rpm :D I'm sure the terminal @ 12 o'clock is the 'W' terminal as said before

A slight amount of **** loads. Replaced a sheared power steering bracket bolt, which involved removing the alternator and power steering pump, replaced a 'faulty' halfrauds washer pump, after I changed it I turned the cogs of the old one only to find that it had seized, works perfectly now :doh...

Cleaned all the clay-mud like substance from Peterborough off it and also measured how my new Optima will fit, luckily it's a pretty much straight swap for the suspect Numax :D Also pulled the number plate off the bumper because it looked untidy with cable ties, it's in the windscreen...

Having never looked at them closely enough I couldn't say I know anything about them, would like to know them a bit more though, they seem to be more sophisticated and a big move ahead compared to the old 200/300 lumps :D

Got Powerful UK angel eye's on mine with Osram Nightbreaker +'s (Can't recommend the Nightbreakers enough) They are plastic bowls so they don't rust and the LED angel eye looks cool at night, only problem is thet are not 'E' marked. Saying that I have never had a problem with the rozzers and...

Vacuum lines could be a possibility, if you have a split vacuum line the fuel pump tries to compensate with more fuel and causes black smoke (wasted fuel)

Yesterday I took it on the Peterborough Off-road course :D

My dad has a temp laser which we use on the thermostat housing and top hose, as far as I know my thermostat is an 82 degree one. If you haven't got one handy just feel the top hose, general rule of thumb (for my dad and me) if we can hold the top hose then it's generally running ok :rolleyes...

I have also come to the conclusion that they are only as reliable as the stuff you put on them :rolleyes:
