EAS VALVE BLOCK P38 1999 DIESEL

Brilliant, thanks guys, knew you'd come through nice and early...now all I have to do is convince 2 mechanics to listen...I was introduced to the first mechanic by a mutual friend, an orchardsman. The saying goes, I do Landrovers, you do apples, and you do dogs... (I'm a teacher and dog trainer).

EAS VALVE BLOCK P38 1999 DIESEL

Thanks Wammers, I took it to my usual mechanic who knows Landies mechanically and drives a L322, this was beyond him so he took it to his friend who apparently is a bit of a P38 'guru'...and has 'the official kit for reading it'... and he's gone straight for changing the whole valve block...

EAS VALVE BLOCK P38 1999 DIESEL

Hi all; well after approx 2 days of owning my shiny lovely P38, he decided to remind me he's a P38 and come up with an EAS fault. Now identified as an EAS valve fault, the mechanic wants to change the whole valve block. QUESTION: Can I just change one valve?

Hello; I have just bought a P38 and only have one key; the buttons don't work on it, and it's held together with a cable tie. Can you supply news keys? I only have the one, so can't send it to you as then I'd have no car.

    P38 REPLACEMENT KEYS 1999 diesel

Hi; I did do a search before starting this thread, all the posts seemed pretty old and I wanted to check the current situation ref getting new keys. I only have one, it's held together with a cable tie and the red light is on most of the time; the remote doesn't work so I have to keep using the...

    P38 LOW RANGE SELECTION

Oddly, where when driving my old Honda CR-V my affected right hand would lie dormant in my lap, in the new Rangie I suddenly realised whilst driving along that there it was, gripping the wheel at 2 o'clock as it should! See, Range Rovers are good for you! :D

    P38 LOW RANGE SELECTION

Thanks guys. Sorted now, bought a fairly lovely 127,000 mile P38 from a chap who turns out to be a mod for Green Ovals! He recommended Lancaster, who at first quoted me over £1100 until I fired back the seller's premium with them on that car...and they more than halved it. Wish us luck!

    P38 LOW RANGE SELECTION

Ta, will try them too, though Parkinson's is DVLA reportable.

    P38 LOW RANGE SELECTION

Thanks, will try First Direct tomorrow, Direct Line have a short list of 'mods' they'll accept, and suspension isn't on it.

    P38 LOW RANGE SELECTION

Changed to coil springs and an uprated ECU - two essential mods, without which I wouldn't have bought it! Saga refused to cover me, and wouldn't say why! So now looking at £658 a year with Admiral  Thanks for the best wishes :)

    P38 LOW RANGE SELECTION

Yes, against my scruples, I tried everybody!

Thanks Adam - but I'm out in Somerset. Haha. Biggest problem currently is insurance!!

    P38 LOW RANGE SELECTION

Okay, now my insurance has doubled...it's not the business use, can't be the Parkinson's (legally), can't figure it out - but I'm getting refused cover because of the modifications :(

    Insurance

Too many threads with this question asked already. What I really need to know is who gives sensible premiums for RRs with suspension mods. One for the P38 group.

    Insurance

Hi; buying a P38 2.5DSE soon, changing from a Honda CR-V, my insurance quotes are rocketing to over £1000! Adrian Flux got it down to £871 Fully Comp; It has a coil spring conversion and chipped ECU, but I'm no boy racer and it's not a hotrod - anyone got any suggestions who to go to??

    P38 LOW RANGE SELECTION

No worries - he handed me the keys and said to go have another look around, he'd be there in a moment! So I thought, if it goes bang in his yard, not my problem! :D
