After swapping the Discovery transfer box for old Defender transfer box back with a new cross drilled input gear on the Defender, so happy to have my torque back :D On 32" tyres with a disco box was fine, 33" tyres are no good, even with a big intercooler and wound up fuel pump + Turbo it just...

Yeah man very true, and if I get a roof lining I'd have to get side trims to go with. Both the roof lining and side trims are £600 with vat :o But I suppose they'll last years and tidy the inside of it up :)

Finally fitted the new wheels, tyres and extended arches :D 285/75R16 Cooper Discoverer STT's on 16x8 D-Modular -32 offset from Silverline 4x4 The arches are from MPS trading on fleabay and are apparently 'indestructible' :)

All these points make sense. I think I'm better off being safe than sorry. I've heard of people meeting the wrong cop and getting 3 points for each wheel, instant ban basically :rolleyes: Might be made up, but I don't want to take that risk

Got some new wheels + tyres from Silverline 4x4. Can't fault them, had a small problem with the courier being late, but they were very quick to chase them up and couldn't do enough to help :) Chuffed with the look of them, just waiting on my extended arches for legal reasons :rolleyes...

They're probably just covering their own arses, but tbh I've just checked Cooper's site, (a bit biased because I've got cooper's), but they say 6.5" is ok for 255 :confused: Unless they've had bad experience in the past? As you said though, their loss :p

After smelling a suspicious oily smell, I checked unde the bonnet, turns out I didn't screw the oil filler cap down properly. Oil mist all over the engine bay :D Luckily the oil level only went a bit down and the oil filler cap was tucked between the cylinder head and exhaust manifold, slightly...

My dad and I 'removed' (mutilated) all my seized grenade valve caps. I couldn't recommend aluminium valve caps any less now, thanks to that salt on the road :rolleyes:
