P38A EAS Self levelling and other strange stuff

I fitted new seals to the valve block a couple of years ago and it has been in a drawer in the garage since. It was a bit dusty when i pulled it out, but i fitted it anyway. I soaped up the valve block this evening and it is leaking around the base of 2 of the solenoids, so i will recon the old...

P38A EAS Self levelling and other strange stuff

Parked it up yesterday on high setting and pulled the delay relay, went to pub for a couple of hours and when I came back it was sat on it's haunches. Whilst I was working on it yesterday afternoon, the compressor was not working when it should have been. I earthed out the orange wire and still...

P38A EAS Self levelling and other strange stuff

So when it has a fault "right rear sensor out of range", am i able to go into an EAS programme (BBS or RSW) and rewrite the settings so that the sensor comes back into range, or do i need a new sensor?

P38A EAS Self levelling and other strange stuff

OK, So i will get a mate to make me up some calibration dowels this week and meanwhile i think i will just fit an ordinary relay in to stop the self levelling. I will give all the electrical connections a squirt with some contact cleaner and check them for corrosion. I am in touch with some chap...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

P38A EAS Self levelling and other strange stuff

Sounds like a plan. I will have a look tomorrow. It hasn't stopped raining here for about 3 months so i wouldn't be surprised if there is a bit of moisture somewhere. Thanks

P38A EAS Self levelling and other strange stuff

Gidday all, Been having a few EAS problems lately. I've had a crack at fixing it but seem to have made it worse. A list of the events in order of occurrence follows. Compressor not switching an and off as it should, i.e. the EAS lights inside vehicle indicating suspension raising but no power...

Landy 110 petrol to diesel conversion

Can't see any bubbles in header tank and didn't really let it get up to running temp to see if it pressurised the cooling system but head gasket if faulty is only minor at the moment though i would prefer to do the repair when the engine is out before i fit it to my 110. Just don't want to pull...

    200TDI Blown head gasket

I am looking at buying a 200TDI disco and swapping the diesel motor to my 2.5 petrol 110. The indicators are that the 200TDI may have a head gasket problem. Should i turn and walk away, or are the head gaskets a piece of cake to do. Are the cylinder heads known for cracking if so how much for a...

Landy 110 petrol to diesel conversion

I Have established it's an early Disco with LT77 gearbox and 200TDI engine so thats all good. I have now done a TK test (combustion leak ) and found that the chemical is turning greenish, not the full blown monty yellow so i am guessing that it may have a slight head gasket leak. Before i cough...

Is the timing belt behind an aluminium cover? Do you have to remove the water pump to access it?

Landy 110 petrol to diesel conversion

Just been to pick up the disco and check out the engine and it's a chain drive engine does that mean it is still 2.5 TDI. I thought the T 200 TDI was a belt drive and Jen would this still be a good engine to fit to my 110 Thanks.

Landy 110 petrol to diesel conversion

Thanks Marmaduke i have just had a quick read and sounds easy enough. Not sure what gearbox is in the disco yet, but my 110 must have the Lt77. Which is the best gearbox of the two? are the transfer boxes interchangeable and should i fit the disco transfer box for a higher road speed?

Landy 110 petrol to diesel conversion

Gidday, New to this part of the website as i normally post in the Range rover section. However, i have a 110 flat deck 2.5 petrol and i have just bought a wrecked Disco 200TDI manual with the intention of swapping the motors over and convert my petrol 110 to diesel. Does anybody have any idea...

35MPH speed warning on P38 Air Suspension

Ha Ha well done. Love it when it's something simple. I've been caught out many a time looking for the complex solution only to step back and find it's something basic. I wonder how much the main stealer would have charged for the many hours the young inexperienced apprentice may have spent...

    G'day folks

Gidday fellas, Mid country here in Welly (the medium smoke). Running a P38 DSE and also have a 1988 110 flat deck 2.5 4 cylinder petrol. Don't do much 4wd, but did take a cruise up to tukino whilst driving north to Auckland once. It was a bit of a gamble as the tyres were barely warrantable and...
