mine (same year but 90) did exactly the same thing a week or so back think i got water it it somehow splines rounded off and bearing needed replacing. fitted HD flanges in hope of preventing it happening again.

Wondering if anyone knows the Name/where i can buy/part number of that strip of plastic that runs along the top of the lower section of dash in a defender Old tpe not new ? picture below shows a LHD just something i found on google mine would actually need the RHD version, many thanks in advance.

Ha i posted the same question a week or so back also a 1996 300tdi 90, got a hundred different answers. after nearly running it out i got just over 50 litres in so id say its a 50litre tank + the pipe ect. dont wait for the fuel light to come on you dont have one. hope that helps.

I discovered today that the reason im going through so many wheel bearings maybe because hub oil seals no longer fit in my hub properly, their too small. Basically i dont think the seal is too small but the inside of the hub has worn away maybe from somthing spinning in it ? For now im going...

I recently learnt the hard way that the radius arms locate the axle so if you take them off.... you have big problems. :doh: So now i really need to take them off how do i do it safley without a car landing on my head do i need to secure the axle fist or will just putting it on a flat surface...
