Ian, (or any one else) when setting the marks for the pump cam, do I use the dot or the line (next to the F)? Thanks

Right so have taken the timing cover off. Now if I line the small cog at the bottom right so that the dot on the cog is inline with he arrow then the two top cogs are out by 2 splines. So timing is defo out.

Thanks for all the help guys. I am pretty sure its the pump timing since I do remember thinking the cog moved a little bit. Hopefully no damage has been caused. Just waiting on a friend so i can borrow his 42mm spanner to undo the big bolt so i can take the timing cover off and assess things.

Okay lets hope. So do you suggest I redo the timing belt this time with pins, put it back together and see if it runs properly or do you suggest checking the push rods etc at the same time? And will checking the push rods involve taking the head off? Thanks a lot, Jasper

ahah ah fak! Changed the timing belt by lining the marks up but now i've read its a lot more complicated than just doing that. ahaha bollocks! So chances are, i have knackered the valves and push rods? anything else?

No locking tools Are they the ones refereed to in the overhaul manual as LST 107 AND 18G 1456? Is there a hillbilly replacement that's easy to make up or will it be best to source the proper ones? Thanks
