    Attempted theft in bristol

We've had a lot of activity around here, too. I occasionally see police reports and they're hitting spots within a mile on both sides of my house, sometimes on the same night. They would've had to drive by my place on their way... :(

    Carb balancer

Maybe I'm doing it wrong, but... Does anyone know of a place that sells a carburetor balancer for the 3.5L V8 twin carb engine? The workshop manual I have lists these special tools related to carb tuning and so far I can't find them: 605330 - Carburetter balancer MS80 - Mixture adjusting...

    CSW Rear Sliding Windows Refurb

Somewhere way down my list is replacing my sliding windows with a solid piece of [plexi?]glass. I've yet to open the rear windows and I'm tired of the gaps, drafts, and leaks (and the moss that's growing on the felt!).

    Knock Knock, Who's There?... Rattle

Any suggestions on what such a thing is called and/or where to buy one? The oil syringe I bought from ScrewFix was really leaky and I got way too much oil on the drive. I ditched it after a go on the rear diff, then wedged a small funnel into some plastic tubing I had laying around. It was a...

    High Low Selection very hard

This is good advice. My first time I was trying to rock my Landy 'cause the bloomin' manual said it should be in neutral. After I got all hot and bothered (about to give up) I just put it in gear and it worked a treat. Edit: well maybe not "good" advice - but at least it works for me too

    High Low Selection very hard

Hey Doug, mine is/was the same way. Old owner(s) must've never put in low range. After a change of the transfer & gearbox oil and repeatedly going between hi/low range it's gotten a lot more smooth. Not great, but better. Be careful not to use too much force. Part of the linkage (called the...

    Radiator cold spots?

Oh sorry - I thought you meant the drain plug at the bottom. No I only opened the filler plug. I'll go check and see if I can find what you mean... Edit: Beats me. All I can see is the big filler plug on the very top of the rad. Are we talking about the same thing? IIRC, remember you first...

    Radiator cold spots?

Hey thanks Steve - but there is no plug on my rad. Quoth the workshop manual: "NOTE: Disconnect bottom hose to drain on radiators without a drain plug." That's ultimately what I had to do. Made a right mess, too. :)

    Radiator cold spots?

I was gutted when my 110 overheated again this weekend. Could really use some advice. When I first got it, it ran cool (with the needle never getting up over 1/3 from the left). Then, over the course of a couple days, it climbed until it would reach just into the red - whether idling or working...

    Defender Wheel Rims

Definitely not trying to argue. There's just some conflicting resources out there and I wanted to check with the egsperts I think this is TMHM's source: Cross reference table: Car tyre tips - Pneus Online And another source says 8in is the upper limit for 235mm tyres: Tyre Calculator - Alloy...

    Defender Wheel Rims

Weird, I just ordered a package deal from Paddock for 235/85/R16 tyres on 7x16 rims. They say the 7x16 rims are out of stock, so I thought this might be a good opportunity to switch up to 8x16 rims. I e-mailed to ask if they could put my tyres on a 8x16 rims instead, but the response was: "NO...

    Defender Wheel Rims

If the sweet spot for a 235mm tyre is a 8in wheel, in the wheel & tyre packages from both Craddock & Paddock, how come they only sell 235mm tyres fitted to 7in rims ??
