Advice on replacing both rear toe spindle links on Disco 4

Thanks Stanley, if I had any doubt as to it being a misdiagnosis I would have given them the benefit of the doubt but it's clear to me, my neighbour, the other guys that did the 2nd MOT that they lied through their teeth so I think you are right, they are taking the **** and would be doing it to...

Advice on replacing both rear toe spindle links on Disco 4

Well its the fact that they put a major fail on the MOT down as both suspension arm ball joints excessively worn, then told me the lower arms need replacing, then quoted me over 1K and then when I said that I couldn't afford that work with their labour rates being £90 an hour, they changed their...

Okay guys, sorry for the delay in updating here, as you know I was taking the car in for an MOT at another garage, but before I did that I went to the local jetwash place and put the suspension up as high as it goes, I then jet washed the undercarriage, in particular the suspension...

Advice on replacing both rear toe spindle links on Disco 4

Well god damn boys, so I took the car into Halfords this morning to put 4 duratec's on it and I asked the guy who fitted the tyres was there any play in the rear wheels and he said there was none at all (I know it's Halfords but they did a good discount on the duractecs), so now I am thinking...

I would have thought it wouldn't add much to the labour cost so might as well do it? Are these both the same thing?

Advice on replacing both rear toe spindle links on Disco 4

Thanks for you input buddy, when you say unit, you mean weight right? And do you know how often these things needs to be changed, if I go for the Lemforder's vs the Delphi's what are your thoughts on the lifespan difference between the two? (that's probably a really hard question to answer, so...

Okay, thanks hero, is this the place you mean and is this the complete part list all I need? There are some red bushes there too, so I chose the more expensive ones, I assumed both are the same thing? https://www.advancedfactors.co.uk/rear-anti-roll-bar-mountings--link-rods-1631-c.asp

Advice on replacing both rear toe spindle links on Disco 4

Thanks for this @gstuart, really helpful, a bit out of my league but I found a relatively near garage in evesham that charges a reasonable £50 per hour labour rate and I've booked the car in to do the work, as for the parts could you kindly check the link below for me and tell me this is the...

Advice on replacing both rear toe spindle links on Disco 4

Hi guys, Well I took my car in for an MOT, the guys there failed it on what they wrote was rear track control arms, they told me it would be about £150 per arm and they charged £90 labour per hour, then quoted me circa £800 for the repair. I then said I couldn't afford that and would have to...

Huge cloud of white/grey smoke from exhaust if I floor it on the first start of the day.

Thanks, I forgot to mention that the colour of the smoke is white/gray but persists in the air for a while until dispersed by the wind, regardless of outside temps. I didn't know what overfueling was so I just googled it and on first review it looks like that would lead to black smoke coming...

Huge cloud of white/grey smoke from exhaust if I floor it on the first start of the day.

Hi guys, I have a discovery 4 TDV6 2010, as the title says, when driving the car first time in the morning or if left for circa 6 hours or more, if I don't floor it and let the engine warm up for a while, say a 5 minute drive and I then floor it, I get no smoke whatsoever, the car drives...
