I cannot start my p38 as engine is disabled and I can't reset as I don't have a key for the door lock. If I buy a door handle/lock with a key and the matching ignition lock, will this work for me ?

Hi all, my p38 2.5 2001 RR. I had my gearbox oil and filters changed and all ok now,however, I charged the battery in the car overnight, the next day, my neighbour said they thought they heard a bang near the car. The battery charger appeared to be ok but I suspect I have the wrong battery...
