Looks the same as the diff plug. You should see it and go; "ah! That thing! " Only thing I can think of is seals.

G, self contained unit. You gave a drain and fill plug on it. Uses same oil as gearbox. No dipstick just undo level/fill plug and it should just seep out.

Sounds like it's knocked the selector xyz switch. Probably needs adjusting and re locating to its correct place.

Did it the way I always have. Plugs out, tester in and 7 cranks. Not sure which way that is, but to me it's normal.

Checked the crank sensor. Removed the cover, which is in a swine of a place, to find the 2 nuts holding the sensor in place were finger tight. Cleaned the end and refitted. Runs a dream again now. Must of been just loose enough to give a dodgy signal.
