Valve stem caps can wear through, that will open your tappet gap's. I read that you have it to bits now, so you will be resetting the rockers when your done. Check the caps for wear before you do. Mine started 'tapping' and a heavy breathing sound could be heard from the air cleaner... No. 4...

Received a box of new bits today.. panhard rod bushes, full bush set for the front radius arms and a set of heavy duty springs :D Fitted the bushes to the Panhard rod ready for the MOT next week :eek: The rest will have to wait for now..

I'm sorry to say... that I have driven mine every day for the best part of 10 years and the roof lining still resembles a badly put up tent ! It doesn't matter what you do... you can never prevent the inevitable...:(

Waving at other Land Rovers is something I've always done.... you never now when you might need a tow ! It pays to stay friendly with as many as you can ! :) Though as many have said... most of the new shiny brigade don't usually bother.

I have seen that some bits are available... but only the boot and ball joint parts. I will have to have a further look.. unless anyone here knows of a supplier. or, look for a second hand part.

Was working on the drive... sheds to full of useful things, or **** as the good lady would say ! The tank is full of diesel... so not to much chance of fire.. although I did burn myself at one point :( Welding upside down under your car is so much fun !! :D

Well... after 20 years on the road I have finally had to weld the chassis !

Decided to bite the bullet and buy a brand new back box ! So 65 quid later :eek: had me nice new exhaust... fitted it this afternoon.... on a gravel drive... can still feel the bloody stones in me shoulder blades !! Also discovered that the bottom of the chassie rail has a hole from the anti...

There is a warning light on the dash for Transmission Temp... looks like a gear (roughly in the middle) and will flash up when you turn on ignition.
