Sounds like same symptoms ive had , ended up with head gasket blown and head cracked. Best to carry out a sniff test on the header tank .

Hi , had a 58 plate in today head cracked , sniff test came up positive straight away , this is second engine landrover has fitted to this vehicle, 110 king cab . Talking to other people it seems landrover has had problems with this engine , even down to replacing engines and heads on vehicles...

Looking for a Hi cap ladder rack in good condition and 2 forward control rims 569204 please.

This was my original question at the start of this thread, ive just finnished engine change number 3,not the same vehicle i might add :), and they all sufferd with snaped cranks. I wasnt driving any of them so cant say if oil lights etc came on or not , but seems to be becoming a regular fault !

mmmmmmm having hands like shovels , makes the job a nitemare , in comparison , cam belt, piece of cake :)

Rear belt lovely , not , only good news is automatic tensioner and no timing up , but horrible to do .removing engine mounts lowers engine but super tight . Engine change is meant to be about 20 hours , but replacement engine needs building up so i look at 3 days solid

2.7 v6 , not 5 cylinder , high mileage , 250,000 but shorly shouldnt snap cranks , third vehicle not same vehicle !!!!!

Just fitting third engine to Disco 3, snaped the crank in two , is this common problem with these engines ?
