So If ok il just leave the extension that’s already there buy the £92 longer shaft and hope it goes in ok?

I thought the right hand side was longer so it just slots in etc , I need to up my game here

So I can’t just buy the £92 rh drive shaft aftermarket part now , the bearing are shot at the hub obviously can’t tell if other end is shot , so to be sure the £92 part won’t just replace what’s there ?

Oh and lynall without your help in the past and others it would have cost a fortune so I’m grateful

Yea can’t be helped some people get lucky some don’t as with everything in life , tbh this is what I’ve replaced, 2 front hubs , instrument cluster , brakes pads ,compressor, repaired the hand brake , boot lock and now working on drive shaft , a few of those were done as maintenance oh and track...

Now I’m confused now lol with this extension I thought it was just the r side drive shaft I needed the part you posted earlier is there another part required ? Or is it awkward to get in sorry to sound dumb just like to know as much as poss before getting to that stage ?

Understood , now on the tech side how likely will the shaft pull out from the diff or you think il need a puller tool ?

Yea it’s my thinking , I’ve got the auto 2.7d 2008 I’m going to replace the whole shaft well the right hand side , are there diff types for that model then as I’m not the best trying match up looking underneath etc I was just about to order the r side for that year and engine size lol , if need...

Well upon looking at what’s involved, I changed all the front hubs/bearings last year it doesn’t look like it would take much more stripping down then that to replace , so to save having it recovered to another garage and costs I’m going to attempt it , is it just a new r/h drive shaft I would...

Right recovered he had a look it’s the right side drive shaft basically hanging bearings gone etc not sure next move but I think it’s beyond me Il have a search much appreciate all your input .

Idle is fine then as soon as drive engaged and hand brake off it clangs away

It’s about 3 mile from my drive is there anyway I can change a terrain mode to limp it home or anything just don’t wannna move out to main rd and come to a stop or wait for aa to just get it back ?

So I start it although all the dash warnings now come on it sounds like a bucket of nails , metal rattling what’s the likely damage need a new diff, if I floor the accelerator I can move it still just sounds like **** when it started the noise I did hear like metal falling off perhaps ?
